FILM, TV and stage star Saeed Jaffrey will be discussing his career with Chipping Norton audiences in a star appearance before a special screening of A Passage to India.
Jaffrey, the son of a medical officer in India, graduated from university with an MA in medieval British and Indian history before he took up a drama scholarship in America.
He starred on Broadway before moving to Britain in 1967 to launch a film career comprising the likes of The Man Who Would Be King, Ghandi, My Beautiful Laundrette and many more.
He's been seen in all kinds of shows, from the TV drama The Jewel in the Crown to Coronation Street where he played corner shop owner Ravi Desai.
He was the first Asian actor to receive an OBE and he has been described as a pioneer for Asian actors in mainstream film and television.
Jaffrey will be interviewed by stand-up comedian Jeff Mirza at 7.30pm before the film is screened on Monday. Box office: 01608 642350.
