THERE was misery for Stourport's under-strength seconds who slumped to a heavy 7-1 defeat at home to much-fancied Beeston.

Dave Tuckett-Good grabbed their consolation just before half-time to make it 4-1, but in rainy conditions, they struggled to weather the storm.

Next week they have a difficult away trip to Belper, who are the reigning second league champions.

A relatively inexperienced thirds side were out-muscled by their stronger opponents in a 4-0 defeat at Beeston.

Although Stourport battled well in difficult conditions, a string of key moments went against them.

They will be hoping for better fortunes at home to Nottingham University on Saturday.

Stourport fourths were also on the receiving end of a comprehensive defeat, losing an open game at home to Cannock 8-3.

With both sides creating chances, the visitors took a high percentage of theirs while Stourport were limited to a David Nock double and one from Tom White.

They travel to newly-promoted Birmingham University on Saturday.

The fifths clash at Belper was abandoned after five minutes of the second half after the wet weather made it impossible to play the ball.

They were 1-0 down at the time and now must replay the fixture within the next fortnight.

On Saturday they play host to Belper fourths at 2.30pm.

The best Stourport men's results of the day went to the sixths who played out a 2-2 home draw with Edgbaston.

Thirteen-year-old Ben Carless put them 1-0 up and 56-year-old Frank Colwill snatched a late equaliser after they were pegged back by the visitors.

They play host to Bridgnorth fourths at 4pm on Saturday.
