PRAYERS will be sent into the heavens when a Stourport church celebrates its 125th anniversary.
All Saints Church, at Wilden, will mark the occasion this Sunday with a release of balloons with prayers attached to them between 11am and noon on the day.
There will be 125 balloons - one for each year since the consecration of the church in 1879. Proceeds from donations for attaching a prayer to a balloon will go to church funds.
Anyone who has a connection with the church, whether they were married or baptised there, previously worshipped there or has family buried in the churchyard, is invited along, as is anyone else who lives nearby.
A service, with John Gathercole as guest preacher, will be held in the church at 9.30am.
