A DIABETES sufferer from Stourport is celebrating a fund-raising feat after generating £750 for the diabetic education and training centre in Kidderminster.
Forty-year-old logistics engineer, David Pritchard, generated the cash, which will be used to buy new equipment for the Kidderminster Hospital-based facility with his brother Andy, 38, of Albert Road, Kidderminster.
The pair began their sponsored walk in Storridge, near Hereford, on Friday and reached their final destination, Kidderminster, at around 12.30pm the following day, after an overnight break.
They were greeted in the town by diabetes specialist nurse, Lyn Gilbert, and deputy mayor, Peter Dyke.
Mr Pritchard, of Mostyn Road, who has suffered from insulin dependent diabetes for 11 years, said: "I'm very pleased with what we raised because it's the first time I've ever done anything like this."
He added: "The diabetes nurses need supporting.
"They're very, very good nurses and it's an excellent centre. I wanted to put something back in."
