KIDDERMINSTER Cobras experienced mixed fortunes in their opening two Premier League games with a win and a defeat.

They kicked off their campaign with an impressive 63-62 victory over a Wolverhampton side boasting several National League players.

But their joy soon turned to disappointment when they lost 83-69 to Redditch Regents in their next fixture.

At the halfway stage, Kidderminster were trailing 40-28 and it took a change of tactics to man-to-man marking to restrict Wolverhampton. Kidderminster did contain their opponents and made inroads on the defecit but with three minutes remaining they were still 11 points behind. Cue some frantic scoring from Miszkowki, Bonshor and Francis, before Mark Davis stole it right at the death to secure a 63-62 win.

It crowned an impressive performance from Davis, who top scored with 15 points.

Other scorers: Marriott 14, Miszkowski 8, Ricketts 8, Thornhill 7, Bonshor 4, Francis 3, Booth 2, Partridge 2.

They travelled to Redditch looking to avenge a single point defeat in this fixture last year, but it was not to be. There were only four points in it at the end of the first quarter with Regents holding sway. And Kidderminster were still in touch with their hosts at the half way stage, closing the gap to 41-38.

Quarter three was to be the decisive one of the game, after an early exchange of baskets, Cobras appeared to be chasing shadows and ended up trailing by 14 points.

That defecit proved too large to claw back and despite another change of tactics providing some respite their scoring rate was too low and they ultimately lost the match 83-69.

Once again Davis top-scored with 20 points.
