ELLIOTT Dinsdale was first home for Wyre Forest Cycle Racing Club when they promoted the third round of the West Midlands Cyclo Cross League at Coney Green Farm, Stourport, on Sunday.
Over 180 riders, in various age groups, raced over the one-mile hilly course.
The seniors race was convincingly won by Stephen Knight, of MI Racing. Dinsdale rode strongly to finish 14th.
The race for veterans, juniors and women was won by veteran Ian Wright, of Lichfield City CC followed by juniors Lewis Harris, of Rugby Velo, and Jack Hibberd, of Halesowen C and AC.
The first woman to finish was national champion Louise Robinson, in fifth place for Stourbridge CC.
Wyre Forest's Paul Sergeant rode well in his first cyclo cross race, finishing down the field, but Joe Rowe and Mick Gray both failed to start.
The Under-12s race was won by Joshua Papworth, of Halesowen C and AC, while David Williams, an unattached rider, won the youth race.
Several club members took part in the Cat and Fiddle Challenge in aid of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, on Sunday, a 55-mile course through Staffordshire, Cheshire, Derbyshire and the Peak District, including the seven-mile long Cat and Fiddle climb.
Riding for Wyre Forest were Alan Griffiths, Sue Middup-Jones, Karl Davies, Dave Wood, Jonathon Higgins and Chris Morris.
Riders are heading to Builth Wells for the annual weekend away.
