AN animal rescue centre near Droitwich has been inundated with homeless dogs, which are in desperate need of loving homes.
Danemere Animal Rescue Centre at Tibberton has more than 20 dogs currently in its kennels, with more waiting to be admitted. Its normal capacity is between 10 to 15 dogs at any one time.
"I'm really not sure why we have such a high number in at the moment," said kennel supervisor Dave Lammie.
"We really need to find homes for them as we are bursting at the seams."
Some of the dogs, such as four-year-old cross collie Jack, have been with the rescue centre for a while now.
"I don't know why Jack and some of the others have not been homed. They are all lovely dogs.
"I'm hoping that people thinking about getting a dog will consider taking a rescue dog and will come to us," he added.
Most of the dogs have either been picked up by council dog wardens or have been handed in by people who can no longer care for their pet.
Anyone interested in offering any of the dogs a home should contact the rescue centre on 01905 345655.
