A WOMAN motorist was targeted by vandals who are believed to have fired a stone at her with a catapult as she was driving along a Kidderminster road.
She thought a shot had been fired at her vehicle when the window smashed, showering her with glass.
A piece of stone, about the size of a 2p coin, was found and police thought it might have been fired from a catapult.
Damage amounting to £300 was caused to the Nissan Micra in the incident, just before 8.30pm, on Tuesday last week. Three youths were seen running off.
PC Dan Wood, beat manager for Wyre Forest, said: "It was a very dangerous thing to do and the driver and her passengers were lucky not to have been injured.
"They could have been hit by flying glass or the driver might have lost control of the vehicle."
