I WOULD like to comment on the recent attacks on Councillor Robert Whehay who has stood up for men in relation to "mother and baby" signs at Kidderminster's Swan Centre.
The exclusion of fathers reinforces the marginalization we already suffer.
Females aren't the only ones who take children out. Men do too. Just about every system in place of our society dictates women go first, then children and finally men.
If this world is a "man's world", how come nobody yelled "men and children first" for the lifeboats on the Titanic?
Yes, I'd accept it has been a man's world in business but it's always a woman's world where family, home and society matters are concerned.
Our legal system is biased against fathers as it is, and now we aren't allowed depiction in signs through our town.
I suspect that if our systems were reversed and it was a "fathers and baby" sign, the people complaining about the "silly political correctness" of Councillor Whehay would be more supportive of his stance.
