BEWDLEY-STOURPORT beat the well-drilled Dudley Wasps thirds 24-13 in a keenly-contested friendly.
Andy Barham scored a converted try after 10 minutes of pressure from the pack, but Dudley came back strongly and were awarded a penalty within range of the posts to reduce the deficit to 7-3.
James scored in the corner for Bew-Stour to leave the half-time score at 12-3.
Barham added his second try after good play by the backs, but again Dudley closed the gap with an unconverted try.
However, they were not strong enough to hold back the Bew-Stour pack and after good play from forwards and backs, captain Tim Wilkins crashed through the Dudley defence to score a try, which was converted by Rob Humphreys.
Dudley scored an unconverted try with two minutes left to play.
Bew-Stour are away at Bredon Star seconds in this weekend's match.
