At the annual meeting, in October, Margaret Bradley gave a talk on "My Favourite Things". She had taken along a selection of treasured items, including hats, stuffed toys and covers of old sheet music of songs from the Second World War, or earlier, accompanied by snatches of song.
There were also souvenirs of a time she lived on a remote island. Every item held a special memory.
The flower of the month winners were Stella Wilcox, Joan Purslow and Barbara Smith, the latter also winning the competition for a favourite ornament.
This was the annual meeting, and Gill Clarke was nominated as president for another year.
There were no changes to the other officers, and one substitution on committee.
On November 9 there will be a talk on "aromatherapy".
