SHREWSBURY'S caretaker boss Chic Bates is hoping to make himself public enemy number one with the Aggborough faithful for old time's sake.
Bates was once the scurge of Kidderminster Harriers with a habit of scoring against them as a young striker for non-league Stourbridge.
And the ex-Stoke, Birmingham City and Celtic coach knows upsetting Harriers again will help his chances of getting the Gay Meadow job permanently.
"In my younger days I used to play against Kidderminster for Stourbridgeregularly and I did quite well," said Bates, who has taken temporary charge of team affairs following Jimmy Quinn's resignation last week.
"There used to be some good battles with the Wassell brothers in those days and I didn't have to many friends in those days at Kidderminster!
"It will be nice to renew a bit of that rivalry on Saturday because it's a massive game for us and one we will be looking to win."
Bates will not be drawn onb whether he would like the Shrewsbury job on a permanent basis, but he admits he is enjoying life at the helm.
"It's good and we'll see what happens but the most important thing is to start getting results."
Shrewsbury striker Luke Rodgers is suspended.
