THE problem of parking in Broadway will be top of the agenda tonight.
Liz Eyre, Worcestershire County councillor for Broadway asked for the issue to be placed on the agenda of Broadway Parish Council when decriminalised parking was introduced in the Wychavon district.
Cllr Eyre said: "Obviously it is important the law is upheld but I am already receiving feedback on the new arrangements.
"It appears to be more difficult now for less mobile residents to pick up prescriptions and access services such as banking and the bakers.
"I am also aware the new arrangements may have an impact on our trading community. Any new ideas, that could improve accessibility to support the village residents and traders, if appropriate for the whole village, should be followed up."
Decriminalised parking was introduced in Wychavon District Council on Monday, October 11 for both off and on-street parking.
It means that the district council has taken over the responsibility for parking a job once undertaken by the police and traffic wardens.
The same rules will apply to both the off-street and on-street enforcement, and the level of parking penalty will be the same for both.
Parish council clerk Eddie Vickers said the discussion about car parking would be the first step in a long process. Other issues on the parish council agenda include the relocation of one CCTV camera and the winner the Broadway Community Award 2004.
The meeting, which is open to the public, takes place at The Lifford Hall, Broadway, at 7pm.
