Mick Aston, star of the television programme Time Team, gave an illustrated lecture on the subject of mediaeval monasteries. Professor of landscape archaeology at Bristol University, Mr Aston is an expert on the history of the monastic movement, and his talk traced the growth of monasteries in Britain, from their modest beginnings through the centuries of their great power, to the dissolution.
On Wednesday, at St George's Church annexe, Kidderminster, Dr Chris Upton will give a talk on "Spring-Heeled Jack - the ups and downs of a Victorian Bogeyman."
