OUR concessionary bus pass scheme is to cost us £12 plus 5p on each journey.
This is to cover the increased amount of £184,000 that "First" bus company has asked for. This is an increase of about 30 per cent on last year.
Why can't some money be saved on the £200,000 loss-making park-and-ride scheme?
For the last three weeks, I have been noticing that the buses on this run, between the hours of 10am and say 4pm are almost empty.
Why not take these buses off completely, between these hours? If it were run by a private business, this fiasco would have been stopped long ago.
Perhaps because there is a bottomless pit of taxpayers' money, the individuals who run this scheme could not care less about losses that are made annually.
Such incompetence of any service would never happen if they were brought to account over it.
