A GRANDMOTHER who has suffered three tragedies in her family is holding a garden sale for the County Air Ambulance in memory of her loved ones.
Muriel Goodes decided to hold the sale after the death of her son, Robert, who was found hanged at his home in Fulbert Road in June, after being treated for depression.
He committed suicide nearly four years to the day that his 14-year-old daughter Kirsty died in a road accident.
Mrs Goodes' grandson, 26-year-old Darren Williams, also committed suicide five years ago.
Mrs Goodes, aged 75, and daughter Margaret Merritt, the main organisers of the garden sale, decided to hold it for two days after being overwhelmed by the donations they received from neighbours and friends.
The sale, which will have goods such as bric-a-brac, toys, and tools, is taking place at 66 Abbey Road, Pershore, on Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 3pm.
Mrs Goodes said: "The air ambulance is a very good organisation because it attends so quickly. It was there very quickly with Kirsty, I want to help if I can."
Kirsty and her boyfriend, Warren Taylor, aged 18, lost their lives in an accident on the A44 at Cropthorne on July 3 2000.
Following the tragedy, Kirsty's family raised hundreds of pounds for the air ambulance.
Mr Goodes, who was separated from his wife Debbie, left four children Gemma, Stacey, Natalie and Alicia when he died.
