BRAZILIAN Samba music pounded from the walls of two Broadway schools when a special workshop took place.
The music workshop gave pupils at Broadway First School and St Mary's RC primary school the chance to get a flavour of Brazil as well as hands on experience playing an array of traditional instruments such as surdo drums and agogo bells.
Chris Girling, from Wales, held the workshops which were part funded by Worcestershire Arts Edu-cation.
Mr Girling, who has lived in Brazil and played in Samba bands, taught some of the history of Brazil to the schools, as well as letting pupils experience and play Samba music first hand.
Each day culminated in a performance by the oldest children at each school to the rest of the school, parents and teachers.
The event was organised by Philippa Gray, music teacher at St Mary's RC primary school.
She said: "The workshop was absolutely fantastic, the children loved it. What I wanted to do was expose them to different live music that they wouldn't have the chance to hear or play."
Jane Collins, deputy head of Broadway First School said it was a wonderful event.
