TO coincide with National Adoption Week, Wyre Forest residents are being asked to consider providing permanent homes for vulnerable children.

Worcestershire County Council's fostering and adoption team is highlighting the benefits of adoption during the national event, which runs from Monday until Sunday, November 7.

"We need adopters from all backgrounds who can provide a caring and safe home," said Debbie Key, fostering and adoption team manager, "and we have a particular need in Wyre Forest.

"Adoption is one of the most challenging - but also one of the most rewarding - things you can do.

"It means providing a permanent family for children who can no longer be raised by their birth family.

"Because of new Government legislation parents and families who adopt will now be entitled to even more support than ever before.

"While some of our children have difficult pasts, you could be the one that could give them a better future."
