THE closed Horsefair pub in Kidderminster can be changed into housing, planners have agreed.
The pub, on the A451 Stourbridge Road, has been closed for several months and will now be converted into housing after councillors gave their blessing to the scheme.
The pub has an existing flat on the first floor and the ground floor will be made into another flat, members of Wyre Forest District Council's planning (development control) committee agreed.
The design would fit in with a massive re-development of the Horsefair being carried out by Wyre Forest Community Housing, said case officer, Claire Wolfe.
It would also "prevent further problems with regards to disturbances such as noise", she said.
The plan was approved at the October 19 meeting of the committee, at Duke House in Kidderminster.
