THE sound of Irish music is set to come to Worcester next week as one of its most distinctive voices performs in the city.
Niamh Parsons was born and raised in Dublin and has always been deeply-immersed in music, her father teaching her traditional Irish songs.
Her reputation as an outstanding singer and performer is well-established on both sides of the Atlantic.
People can see what all the fuss is all about when she appears at Worcester's Huntingdon Hall on Thursday, November 4.
Parsons has already released three critically-acclaimed albums - Blackbirds and Thrushes (2000), In My Prime (2001) and Heart's Desire (2002), which won an Indie award in 2003, for best traditional album.
She has notched up performances in Washington for former US President Bill Clinton and Irish Prime Minister Bertie Ahern and also at New York's Summer Solstice Festival.
The concert starts at 8pm. Tickets are £10, concessions £9, and are available from the box office on 01905 727979.
