could i thank everyone in the area of Hanley Castle, Upton-on-Severn and Worcester for all their help and kindness during my recent holiday there.
My main reason for the visit was because all my ancestors seemed to have originated in the village of Hanley Castle.
I was lucky enough to meet Dr Philip Tufton, the churchwarden, who was a wealth of information.
I was able to find my great grandfather's grave, Charles Simmonds and his wife Maria, also his daughter, my grandmother, Alice Simmonds, who died in 1915, aged 27. Charles had four children, Alice, Henry, Mary A Simmonds and James Simmonds.
I was wondering if any of your readers could throw any light on Mary or James Simmonds and what happened to them? Do they have descendants today, or any information on any of the family including my grandmother, Alice, who died so young?
Len Simmonds, 3 Station Street, Pensarn, LL227SD.
