A MALVERN householder is in line for a pay-out of about £6,000 because of a faulty conservatory roof.
The resident complained about Malvern Hills District Council to the local government ombudsman.
The man - only identified as Mr Oak in the ombudsman's report - complained because a council buildings inspector had approved the work.
He was advised by an independent surveyor to largely rebuild it after the roof started to move.
The ombudsman upheld the complaint and said Mr Oak should be paid a third of the cost of putting the matter right.
Kevin Douglas, of MHDC, said the council's standards committee, which met on Tuesday, had accepted the ombudsman's report.
He said compensation was likely to be in the region of £6,000, although it needs full council approval.
