AN application to build dog kennels in Leigh Sinton has raised objections from nearby residents.

The proposal, on land at Brook End House, Stocks Lane, would include two buildings.

The first would include 30 kennels, a reception area and shop, laundry, staff room and toilets. The smaller building would provide two isolation kennels, a kitchenette and a run.

Concerns include the impact of the dogs on sheep grazing on nearby land, the noise from kennels and the impact on the surroundings.

Leigh and Bransford Parish Council has objected on the grounds that the noise it may create would lead to 'unacceptable intrusion on the comfort of the local population'.

Malvern Hills District Council's planning officers consider the area a suitable location for a dog kennels, and recommend that permission is granted.

It is believed the distance between development and the nearest property means noise levels should not be unacceptable. The application will be considered by the northern area planning committee on Wednesday.
