teacher Dick Jones attended the profession's "oscars" in London last week.
Mr Jones, who teaches technology at Dyson Perrins CE High School in Malvern, was there as regional winner of the Secondary Teacher of the Year Award.
The awards ceremony at London's Palace Theatre was shown on BBC2 on Sunday evening.
"To win the regional competition was a fantastic achievement. We're very proud of him at the school," said Dyson Perrins head Peter Buchanan.
He said Mr Jones, who first taught at Dysons in the 1970s and is now head of technology, was a dedicated teacher who got the best out of his pupils.
"He has superb craft skills and is a great IT expert. The pupils are lucky to have the benefit of a teacher like Dick," said Mr Buchanan.
Mr Jones attended the ceremony and gala dinner with his wife Brenda and daughter Angela.
The ceremony was hosted by television presenter Eamonn Holmes.
The national teaching awards celebrate excellence and best practice in education and are now in their sixth year.
