KIDDERMINSTER Harriers legend Graham Allner has admitted the chance of a return to Aggborough would be difficult to turn down.

Harriers are looking for a new boss following Jan Molby's resignation which has left midfielder Shaun Cunnington in temporary charge.

Allner, who led Harriers to the Conference title, FA Trophy success and a place in the FA Cup fifth round during more than 15 years in charge, is ready to go back into management.

But while not wanting to throw his name into the hat for the job, the former Worcester and Cheltenham boss is clearly still passionate about the club.

Allner said: "It's sad to see the predicament the club are in and there's a big job on for somebody.

"Getting into the Football League was the culmination of a lot of years work for many people. It would be tragic now if they took this massive step backwards. They need to stay there.

"Harriers are the club closest to my heart. I would do anything to help. It's done me good to have a break from management over the last 18 months and I'm ready for a big challenge.

"I would love to get back into the game. My enthusiasm and energy is still there and my time at Cheltenham gave me the experience in the Football League that I needed.

"I've still been involved in scouting and my player knowledge is greater than ever. I would love the right opportunity but it depends on how other people feel about it."
