EVERYTHING is coming up roses for a Barnards Green florist who has won first prize in a national flower-arranging competition.
Penny Evans, who works for Hunts Florists on Court Road, was the first Worcestershire member to win the floral art competition at the National Federation of Young Farmers' National Competitions Day.
Miss Evans, 27, created an arrangement on the theme of Space and the Solar System using lilies and a variety of foliage.
She was amazed to find she had been awarded first place in the senior category at the event, in Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire on Saturday.
"It was surreal - there were suddenly loads of people looking at me. It's my last year in the group, so it's nice to go out on a high," said Miss Evans, a member of Crowle Young Farmers.
