JOE Jackson believes his Bromsgrove Rovers team will not be fazed by the prospect of facing Southern League Division One West joint leaders Taunton Town tomorrow (3pm).
Rovers, lying 11th in the table but with two games in hand on tomorrow's opponents, make the journey to the West Country with just one win in five league and cup matches.
After holding Mangotsfield United, then table toppers, to a 0-0 draw two weeks ago, the Victoria Ground side lost 3-1 to Evesham before throwing away a two-goal lead against Marlow and losing 2-1 to Stourport Swifts in the league cup first round on Tuesday.
But, despite ensuing results, the performance against Mangotsfield gives manager Jackson reason to have faith in his team.
He said: "I am optimistic because I do think that we fare better against the team that are up there.
"When we play against better sides we have done all right. I am pretty confident that we'll do OK."
Paul Szewczyk definitely misses the match through illness, while goalkeeper Matt Lowe is also concern for the same reason.
Ross Collins has had treatment this week for a knock sustained against in the Swifts defeat but has a 90 per cent chance of making the team.
Striker Arthur Appleton is also likely to feature despite being the subject of a seven-day approach by Swifts.
n The game is expected to go ahead despite heavy rain in the South West in recent days.
