HANLEY Swan world champion indoor rower Anna Bailey could join a hall of fame that includes multiple Olympic gold medal winners Sir Steve Redgrave and Matthew Pinsent.

Concept 2 UK, manufacturers of the most widely used indoor rowing machine world-wide, have nominated Anna Bailey for their hall of fame.

The purpose of it is to remember those people who have helped to make the British Championships the biggest and most exciting mass participation indoor event in British sport.

Election to the hall is by public online vote giving everyone the chance to support their local nominee. Results will be given at the British Indoor Rowing Champion-ships at the National Indoor Arena on Sunday, November 21.

Anna only took up indoor rowing in 2000 in her 50th year, currently holds every record possible in her age group and is still setting new records, frequently beating much younger competitors. She has won all the British Championships since entering the sport and has brought home gold medals from the last three World Championships.

A founder member of the Worcestershire-based Old Wrecks Indoor Rowing Club and a registered C2 instructor, she also assists OWIRC coach Eddie Fletcher.

Details of all the nominees plus the online voting booth can be found at www.concept2.co.uk/ birc/fame.php.

Voting closes on Wednesday, November 17.
