TRADERS in Albert Park Road were up in arms 25 years ago because of Severn Trent Water.
Businesses along the road were demanding compensation for trade lost while pipes were laid in the road.
George and Vera Chaplin, who ran a corner shop and launderette, said one day the workers accidentally cut the water supply to the launderette, and had to rig up an emergency supply from a nearby fire hydrant.
