Constable AW Brown, of Mappleborough Green, who holds the distinction of being the longest serving policeman in Warwickshire, is to retire at the end of this month.
Mr Brown has been stationed at Mappleborough Green for over 17 years and for six years before that served at the Studley station.
Altogether, he has been 23 years in Alcester district.
He joined the police force in 1920 and was stationed at Solihull.
During his service, he has been commended for his work, once by a judge and on many occasions by the local magistrates.
He served in the First World War, joining the Royal Garrison Artillery.
He service in the Far East, where he was wounded.
He was invalided home to Britain but shortly afterwards was drafted to France, where he took part in the battles at Vimy Ridge and Passchendale.
