A WOMAN passenger, Mrs Doris Canning, of Coventry, was taken to hospital with minor injuries after a double-decker Midland Red bus crashed into an electricity lamp standard in Birmingham Road.
The driver, Stanley Alan Pick, of 51 Ten Acres, Alcester, and the other passengers, were uninjured.
No other vehicle was involved.
The lamp standard was uprooted from the ground and carried several yards.
The bus stopped about 30 yards from the point of impact and was extensively damaged.
The window of the driver's cab and a window on the upper saloon were broken.
