WORCESTER City's hopes of a potentially lucrative FA Cup run fell at the first hurdle on Saturday.
Rivals Nuneaton Borough eased through to the third qualifying round thanks to a Stuart Whittaker strike in the second-half.
Manager John Barton felt his City side let Nun-eaton off the hook at Manor Park after an impressive first-half display which yielded a glorious chance for Adam Webster.
"Chances turn games and that was an important point in the game," said Barton.
"We had a firm grip on the game but didn't confirm our superiority," he added. "The first-half was a sound platform to win but we let them off the hook.
"We just never came out of the dressing room for the second-half. Our body language wasn't right, there was nothing positive about it and the goal was indicative of the start we'd made to the second-half."
Meanwhile, club directors Dr Mike Sorensen, David Boddy, Trevor Griffiths and Derek Jones were re-elected at the club's annual general meeting at St George's Lane yesterday.
