Thomas Knott, Melen Street, Redditch, was charged with riding a bicycle furiously in Bromsgrove Road, on May 22.
He pleaded not guilty.
Pc Knott deposed that at 3.30pm on the day in question, he was on duty in plain clothes with Pc Lea.
They were riding bicycles, and about 300 yards beyond the Queens Head they met the defendant, and two others, riding at a furious rate from the direction of Foxlydiate.
Defendant's hat blew off and he had to proceed for a distance of 200 yards before he could pull up, owing to the speed he was travelling.
Defendant came back for his hat and witness told him he should report him.
Defendant was racing and was going over 20 miles an hour.
This statement was received with loud laughter and by the instructions of Supt Hayes, the offender was promptly turned out of court.
Witness added that there were a number of people about at the time. Defendant denied that he was riding furiously.A fine of 2s 6d and 4s costs was imposed.
