REDDITCH shopping centre has been declared a tourist spot - by 44 German visitors to the town.
The holidaymakers, from Frankfurt in West Germany, enjoyed their tour of the shops during their stay at Windmill House, the Weatheroak Youth Centre.
During a 10-day stay at the youth hostel they packed in visits to local industries, including British Aluminium and Studley Needle firm.
They also took part in sporting competitions at Abbey Stadium and went ice-skating and roller-skating.
The youngsters, aged between 13 and 19, enjoyed the sights and sounds of Redditch but found the sporting facilities were not as good as their home town.
But they have promised to make a return visit next year.
