MITCH Counsell is set to quit Worcester City and sign for Dr Martens Premier Division rivals Bath City.
The 21-year-old will complete his move in the next 24 hours after Bath put in seven days notice of approach for him.
Counsell arrived at City in January from Hellenic League side Bishop's Cleeve and made a good impression, notably scoring the winner in the 3-2 victory at Grantham.
He made 16 appearances last season and was in the starting eleven against Havant two weeks ago but was on the bench at Merthyr.
The midfielder said his motivation to move was to play 90 minutes on a regular basis.
"I knew I was always going to be at the end of the line with John Snape and Darren Middleton ahead of me and David Foy and Pat Lyons close to returning," said Counsell.
"If I just wanted to plod along and take the money I would have stayed but I want to play regular football.
"John Barton's been really good about it and doesn't want me to go but he can see where I'm coming from and hopefully it is the right move.
"I should be playing on Saturday and am hoping to complete the move today or tomorrow. Worcester is a great club in the way it's run but I could just see myself being a squad player and I want to play football," he added.
