A BLIND pensioner has spoken of his shock when a car ploughed through the hedge of his front garden on Hallowe'en.
Eighty-four year-old William Jones, who lives in Glenthorne Avenue, Brickfields, said the accident happened shortly after 5.30pm on Sunday.
He said: "When I was told what had happened outside my house I was in shock. It's just horrendous."
Mr Jones' son, also called William, said he and his father were inside when the green Toyota Corolla came through the hedge.
He said: "We were devastated. To look at it was just appalling.
"We feel very vulnerable now because there is now nothing between our front door and the main road."
A police spokesman confirmed the driver had been arrested.
He said: "A man was arrested on suspicion of drunken-driving during an incident in Glenthorne Avenue.
"He was bailed to return to Worcester Police Station while enquiries continue.
"If anyone saw the incident, they should contact police on 08457 444888, quoting 191C/311004."
Police could not confirm whether anyone had been charged at the time of going to press.
