AS REMEMBRANCE Sunday approaches, the Royal British Legion has planned a series of events to remember the sacrifices of servicemen and women during the two world wars.
The Pershore and District branch of the Royal British Legion have organised a two-minute silence, a parade and prayers over two days.
On Armistice Day, on Thursday November 11, all ex-servicemen and women are invited to come together at Pershore Cemetery.
A wreath will be laid at the Cross of Sacrifice, followed by "Last Post" to signal the start of the two-minute silence and "Reveille" to finish.
The ceremony will close with a series of short prayers.
The parade on Remembrance Sunday, on November 14, begins at 10.30am.
Servicemen and dignitaries will march to The Abby where a service will take place conducted by the honorary padres to the Pershore branch.
Wreaths will then be laid on the war memorial, with the branch president following tradition and laying the poppy cross, a poppy for each person named on the memorial stone.
The salute will be taken in Broad Street at approximately 12 noon as the parade returns.
