Bromsgrove Rovers Reserves 3 Oadby Town 2
TABLE-TOPPING Bromsgrove Rovers Reserves were made to battle.
For the first ten minutes, Rovers played very good football, passing and moving extremely efficiently.
Then, a careless pass from a Rovers defender saw Oadby capitalise and score.
But, on 38 minutes, the hard-working Maynard collected the ball near Oadby's goalline, dribbled his way past two defenders to cross fiercely and the ball crashed off Rovers' Lowe into the net for the equaliser.
And another free kick allowed McGrath to whip in a powerful cross which was met eagerly by a stooping How header to make it 2-1.
Within three minutes of the re-start, Oadby were level. A slack piece of covering, allowed Oadby's midfield to surge forward and crash an unstoppable shot passed Hayes in the Rovers goal.
But a move down the right, involving Lowe and Maynard, gave the latter an opportunity to cross from near the goalline. Hollis was fired the ball home from close range for the winner.
l Rovers face a difficult game in the Central Conference next Tuesday when they entertain Kidderminster Harriers at the Victoria Ground (7.45pm).
