ONE of the most successful seasons in Droitwich Spa Cricket Club's history was celebrated at their annual dinner-dance awards night.
Almost 100 people attended the event at Gaudet Luce Golf Club where club captain Steve Walsh won the coveted Brian Bradbury Clubman of the Year award for his huge efforts in skippering the 1st XI to runners up spot in Division One of the Worcestershire County League and for developing the club's website.
He also received the 1st XI player of the year and fielding award to go with his Worcestershire Sunday League winners' medal.
Second XI Player of the Year was won by spinner Dave Stephens whilst the 3rd XI trophy was won by chairman Graeme Wright, who had also stepped in as captain at the start of their promotion season.
The inaugural President's Trophy was handed by Les Davis to Kevin Bryan for his sterling efforts behind the scenes.

1st XI most wickets - Mike Rogers
2nd XI most runs - Dan Garbett
2nd XI most wickets - Anthony Small
3rd XI most runs - Gareth Morgan
3rd XI most wickets - Alan Breakwell
Performance of the Year - Andrew Van Vuuren for his 153 out of 243-8 v. Netherton. Second highest score was 16.
Young Player of the Year - Neil Davies
The club's annual general meeting is to be held at the St Andrews House Hotel, Droitwich, on Monday, November 15 at 8pm. All members are invited to attend.
Winter nets and the indoor league commence after Christmas, and any new members wishing to join the adult or youth sections are invited to call secretary, Adrian Field on 01905 724973.
