Racing Club Warwick 6
Alvechurch 2
ALVECHURCH boss Peter Frain has said sorry to fans after his side was smashed for six on Saturday.
Racing Club Warwick rattled in four first half goals through Jermain Gordon, Leon Thomas and a double from Paul White to kill off the game.
After a half-time rollicking, Alvechurch sparked into life when first Dominik Wolf and then Keith Rostill scored two in two minutes a minute after the restart.
But with Gordon and Thomas adding to their first-half efforts midway through the second period there was no way back for the Churchmen.
Frain said: "I must formally apologise to the supporters who went and had to put up with that on Saturday.
"If the lads have got anything about them they'll give them their money back or not pick up their wages.2
The Churchmen will be travelling to Buckingham Town tonight (Wednesday) in a bid to reach the second round of the FA Vase.
Alvechurch were held to a goal-less draw after extra time by Buckingham in midweek but a win on Wednesday would see the Church on their travels again to face Holbeach United.
However, Frain feels the league game at Lye Meadow on Saturday against Ludlow is more important with the Churchmen just two points clear of bottom of the league.
He added: "It was just so different to what we've been playing recently.
"There's nothing special about RC Warwick - we just didn't turn up. I said before the game we've had a couple of good results and that's what I wanted to continue because this game's all about consistency.
"And again we showed on Saturday how inconsistent we can be."
