YOUNG victims of war, poverty, famine and disease across the world will have a bulging box of Christmas gifts to open this year thanks to elderly members of Timberdine Day Care Centre off Bath Road, Worcester.
Around 50 pensioners, along with carers and volunteers, have been busy collecting goods ranging from toothbrushes and soap to small toys, pens and pencils and have filled 20 shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child.
Jane Hall, assistant carer at Timberdine Day Care, said everyone had been very generous.
"We would like to thank families and friends for helping us," she added.
