A THANK you to Gary Clarke, Ann Heath and their staff at the Rylands Centre, Bromsgrove, for a very enjoyable and instructive day spent with them during Local Democracy week.
If any readers have not been to this centre recently, they will be unaware that a bright and well motivated group of young people have chosen and installed furniture, furnishings and pictures as well as making their own art works to produce a meeting place which is friendly attractive and comfortable.
The young people who met on Saturday I was there, the largest group being from Rubery Youth Centre, were well informaed and confident. Their task was to prepare a manifesto for the election of three representatives on the Worcester Youth Parliament, which meets regularly to express the opinions and needs of the young people of our area.
How refreshing to meet young people who care enough about their area to get involved in its administration.
