THE recent story on the idea of making Droitwich Lido a year round leisure facility was first class.

A summer outdoor pool and winter ice rink is so sensible. Such simple innovation to ensure regular income and minimal investment was long overdue.

What have district councillors and their officers been doing for four years to not come up with anything as practical? We need men with such originality in power to instill some direction at Pershore HQ.

I urge him to stand as an Independent at the next local elections. He will get my vote.
