SO John Moody thinks its a good idea to spend £10,000 of our council tax money on keypads for Bromsgrove's carparks!

Just because other tight-fisted councils, Worcester, Bridgnorth, etc. have adopted such an insidious practice is no excuse for the district council to follow suit.

If someone pays for several hours parking and only stays for part of the time, then surely its up to them what to do with the remaining period?

For the council to attempt to extract charges for the same space twice smacks of Ebenezer Scrooge and in fact I wonder if such a practice is strictly legal. Perhaps if there are other like-minded people out there who feel the same we might challenge this in the courts!

I would suggest that if Mr. Moody's department has money to spare, then they should renew the railings next to the brook at the rear of the Iceland store. They are rusty and unsightly and about to collapse being only held up by a piece of string at one end!

If the council are really so very desperate to raise carparking revenue again then I have a suggestion:- Why not start charging council officials and employees for parking on the Council House car park? Everyone else who comes in to town has to pay so why not them? My wife works for the NHS but has to pay to park on their car parks. So it's only fair isn't it?
