TOWNSFOLK will be asked to paws for thought on Sunday and consider giving a retired greyhound a loving home.
Redditch volunteers for the Retired Greyhound Trust will be gathering for a walk around Arrow Valley Lake from the Countryside Centre at 10.30am.
Trust member Sarah Clarke said they would be taking along some of the dogs from the kennels connected with the dog racing track at Perry Barr.
She said: "The dogs will be wearing coats with 'I need a new home' on them.
"Anyone who is interested in giving a home to a retired greyhound can come on Sunday and talk to a volunteer."
Mrs Clarke said greyhounds made lovely pets and only needed about two 20 minute walks a day.
Prospective owners have to undergo a home check and all re-homed greyhounds come with six-weeks' pet insurance and are neutered and vaccinated.
