FOLLOWING the Primrose Hospice's appeal in the Advertiser to find ''Prince Charmings'' to help Primrose at the Princess, help has arrived from a fairy godmother.

Viv Harley, chief executive of Business Network in Alcester Street, signed her business up for the Sharer of Care programme, open to individuals and businesses.

By giving £4 per month, people can become a Sharer of Care. Participants choose a special date which could be the anniversary of the loss of a loved one, a birthday or any significant date.

They receive a certificate confirming their Sharer status and a thank you card as their date draws near.

They also receive an invitation to an annual event where they can meet fellow contributors.

A spokesman said: "You also receive the personal satisfaction of knowing you're contributing towards the provision of a patient's care for one day a year at Primrose at the Princess.

"With one in three people likely to be diagnosed with cancer sometime in their lives, it's good to know specialist care is available when needed."

The Primrose has committed to contributing £100,000 annually towards running costs of the palliative care unit at Bromsgrove's Princess of Wales Community Hospital, Primrose at the Princess, developed in partnership with Redditch & Bromsgrove PCT.

Viv Harley said: "We're pleased to support charities and are particularly happy to be associated with the Primrose.

"As Sharer of Cares, we know we'll be helping Primrose fund the care of people in Redditch and surrounding areas - it's a great feeling."
