AN enjoyable group meeting took place on October 20 at Studley Village Hall.
Speaker Tricia Stewart, of Calendar Girls fame, travelled from the Dales to talk about her experiences following the launch of the renowned alternative WI calendar six years ago.
The sales of the calendar and subsequent books, cards etc, have raised more than £1 million so far for the Leukaemia Research Programme.
Tricia continues to be the figurehead for the charity as she travels the country with her talks and books, which continue to raise money. She was both a charismatic and amusing speaker with a down-to-earth style.
She held an audience of 150 spellbound with her stories of meetings with stars and royalty.
Afterwards, she joined the group for a cheese and wine supper and gave members a chance to meet her and buy her goods.
