WORCESTERSHIRE'S young people will have plenty of chances to see the entrepreneurial opportunities open to them with the UK's first National Enterprise Week.
A full programme has been organised for go-getters and young people around the county between next Friday, November 12, and Friday, November 19.
Events include:
l An enterprise forum at the Three Counties Showground, Malvern, on Tuesday November 16.
lAn information and opportunities conference called New Year, New Start, New Business at the Guildhall, Worcester, on Thursday, November 18.
l A breakfast meeting for employers to inform them about work-related learning, at Kidderminster Harriers on Friday, November 12.
Young Enterprise master classes are being organised at Waseley Hills High School (Monday, November 15 and Friday, November 19), Baxter College (Tuesday, November 16), and King Charles 1 High School (Wednesday, November 17).
The events are being staged by Worcestershire County Council, Hereford and Worcester Chamber of Commerce, Business Link, the Prince's Trust, Connexions, the Learning and Skills Council, Women in Rural Enterprise and Innovations, and the Creativity and Enterprise Group.
Developing culture
"Enterprise Week is part of a national campaign to help create a more enterprising culture among young people in the UK," said Margaret Gray, county council principal economic development officer.
"In Worcestershire we are working with local entrepreneurs to inspire our young people to think about enterprise and to showcase some of our local businesses."
