BROMSGROVE'S increasing traffic problem was among the topics of discussion at a meeting of the local trade's council. Debate developed when the secretary Mr Crampton referred to the potentially serious effect of the heavy flow of vehicles through the town could have on the protection of the district against fire. He said, when the fire brigade got called out on a recent evening they were held up for considerable time because of congestion in the main street. It was thought buses pulling up at the top of town caused much of the traffic. One suggestion was to institute a one-way traffic system in the High Street, via Crown Close.
