Bretforton II 2,
Swindon II 2
THE visitors were late arriving but it was Bretforton who got off to their now trademark slow start and found themselves letting in two less than spectacular goals in the first half.
The second period saw some improved play with Shirley Aubrey making the running down the centre of the pitch to put Sarah Bragg clean through for a one on one with the keeper to pull one back.
Bretforton kept a lot of the play in their attacking third and won a series of short corners that they failed to convert before pulling off a textbook conversion.
Julie Hall played the ball short to Marion Icke who fired a hard ball back to Hall on the left post, who only needed to connect her stick with it to land the equaliser.
The match ball was sponsored by Cotswold Walls, Trees & Fences Ltd.
Bretforton have a home lea-gue fixture on Saturday when they face Lansdown III.
FISSC 3,
Campden Ladies 3
CAMPDEN, sponsored by Pyments, played a clever game of grass hockey to keep this friendly an even contest despite playing a player short.
FISSC themselves only had ten and it was only a matter of minutes when they took the lead.
However, Sally Holmes, Angharad Morgan and Shirley Aubrey kept things in control in midfield, while Mary Bragg and Kate Hudson did a fine job in defence to keep the home side from striking again.
The equaliser arrived when Sarah Bragg chased a long ball and the FISSC keeper made an early sliding tackle, leaving Bragg still in possession of the ball to hit into an empty goal.
The home side took the lead again with another goal and, when half-time arrived, Cam-pden were unlucky not to have pulled level again when Bragg saw a shot rebound off a post.
The second half saw the equaliser come when Bragg stole her second on the left post from a shot by Aubrey.
Campden were on a roll and took the lead for the first time as captain Sally Holmes made an amazing run down the left wing to start a series of precise passes between Aubrey and Morgan that saw Sarah Bragg set up nicely to strike in her hat-trick.
FISSC then piled on the pressure with novice goalkeeper Frankie Hope having to pull off a series of saves. However, FISSC won a short corner that they converted from a rehe-arsed move to share the spoils.
